Beirtie A. Thorpe

Beirtie A. Thorpe was born February 9, 1926. She was born in Powhatan, VA to her parents  Emanuel and Elizabeth Armstead who precede her in death, along with her late husband Archie L. Thorpe, Sr., three sisters, Dorothy Armstead, Lillian Johnson, and Nelly Carter; and one brother, David Armstead.

Beirtie attended Richmond Public Schools where she graduated from Armstrong High School. She was a devoted member of Mt. Calvary Church, and retired from AT&T. She loved the Lord foremost and enjoyed walking, watching television, shopping, and cooking.

She leaves to cherish her memory one devoted son Archie L. Thorpe, Jr.; two grandchildren, ArKeshia Johnson and ArTayssia Barbee; three great grandchildren, Summer Jones, Spring Smith, and Bobby-James Smith; a devoted niece, Ida Taylor, and devoted Godson, James Washington Jr., along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A viewing will held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 and from 1 p.m - 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5008 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, VA, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2024.

Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
